Nils Quak / Flamingo Creatures - Split Cassette on Crash Symbols

The sky is low, the world below shielded from the sun's brightness. Nothing is exposed to the growing distant realm of satellite cameras and sensors. When clouds drag across the surface, a feeling of intimacy permeates emotions. Everyone in close proximity tucked under a blanket of settling mist. Like children, we create a small area illuminated by flashlights to read and look through fascinating subjects. In this instance, both Nils Quak and Flamingo Creatures hold our attention. They deliver the heaviness of a condensed atmosphere, the comfort of being secluded, with the warm intensity of prismatic aural delight.

Within this lengthy split, both composition's rest with mesmerizing nostalgia. The artists have created sounds reaching back to the early days of the cassette resurgence. Fully realized densities, pulling in orbiting electrons. The hidden immensity, a cosmos beyond the clouds or outside the blanket, resting in focal consciousness.

Nils Quak works towards a congruence of dreams, an ambient float tank drifting where the atmosphere becomes weightless. Here both radio waves and cosmic particles penetrate meditative space. The rejuvenating consciousness is riddled with physical particles. Fortunately Nils Quak balances both material and spiritual existence in graceful accord.

Flamingo Creatures stirs the dream state with vivid energy. Both timeless pageantry and ceremony have been warped through the sonic waves. Sounds traveling from past and future places, the metaphysical and corporeal, a composition at the X, Y, Z axis of all things. The most striking feature is how magically beautiful Flamingo Creatures has kept it. A wildness almost tamed, making a most pleasurable push to listening thresholds.

Released in an edition of one hundred and fifty by Crash Symbols. The extra fifty cassettes from the standard one hundred is the only reason this is still available. Ronnie Oliveras and Ruth-Maria Adam are the contributors for Flamingo Creatures. Also Ronnie Olivera created the vibrantly cool artwork for the cover. Nils Quak has an extensive discography like Flamingo Creatures. His work can be found across label favorites like SicSic Tapes, Cosmic Winnetou, and Sacred Phrases to mention of few. Also on the Polish label Wounded Knife where Lost in a Sea of Sound had the delight to describe a release from past years.
