German Army - A Dream Favors Incompleteness

The turn of a circular control, like a knob or ring slowly dialing into the zone of finely tuned. Our lives are like this, we adjust input and output to obtain balanced beauty. A brief state that once reached, the fleeting moment flutters, defying gravity to casualy move away and be pursued again. On this new composition titled A Dream Favors Incompleteness, another German Army massive output, the moment of fine tuned clarity has been most pleasantly procured. We listen to these tracks and feel a completeness, a balance of German Army sounds that delight and satisfy the path of prolific periods creating familiarity and comfort.

A Dream Favors Incompleteness holds twenty eight tracks across two cassettes and ninety five minutes of time. The use of dream in the title is a good description of where this composition rests. Phantasms of civilization's tribal beginnings, growth and refinement then disintegration into fertilizer for the process to repeat. There is patience and space in these selections. The driving rhythms of many alternate German Army releases have been transported to a place where time moves slower. The beauty of this process is the augmentation towards clearness of expression, as mentioned in the first paragraph. It is like the accumulation of knowledge and experience reaching the point where everything is in an unperturbed natural state. Having listened to German Army for years, A Dream Favors Incompleteness  would be one of the handful of German Army releases suggested for introduction to new listeners. And for those who have been following, this double cassette has so many beautiful pieces, getting whisked away and completely lost is a pleasure we thank pk and gt for. With all the sonic crispness A Dream Favors Incompleteness contains, describing individual selections would be a tedious and an opinionated en devour,  just know this session from German Army is completely dreamy.

Released on Strategic Tape Reserve in an edition of not very many, only fifty. With components of a savvy label, a well loved sonic project, an always enticing double cassette, only fifty to go round, and the time it takes to get words done, the physical component is all gone. But wait, someone on discogs has a copy for sale, €99.00. A little exorbitant since digital downloads from Strategic Tape Reserve are €5.00. This is a good lesson, follow the labels you love and the artists who check your sonic needs.
