Body Image CEO - from In these difficult times.... now more than ever... at the end of the day..... Pepsi

The business conference has been long. Thoughts of sitting through another day of motivational lectures based on epiphanies of life is tedious to think about. Fortunately this is the last day and we will be graced by the presence of the company's CEO. Are the rumors of his time living with a hunting and gathering tribe on the African continent true? Supposedly he excelled at ritualistic drumming and gathered celebrity status in the local trade villages. It will be good to hear a talk on business practices from a more worldly and wider point of view than the "yes" people ladder climbers as well as the "been there, done that" speakers.

Wow, on lunch recess now and wanted to reflect on the first hour of the CEO's state of the company talk. Everything delivered by a dreamy and authoritative voice, like a soothing father figure. Interesting how he seemed to ever so slightly bob back and forth while talking, like he was listening to secret rhythms in his head. Also i noticed he looked directly at me a few times. Maybe he sees my potential? After lunch he promised us a drum session with some friends visiting from Africa. For all the tedious hours spent to get to this time with the CEO, this business conference is turning out to be awesome.

The drumming was incredible. His friends were from Africa, but spent years in London playing in the underground industrial/techno/punk scene. The show had driving beats with touches of spoken word instructions, almost like a subliminal hypnosis to be a better worker. Got caught up in the whole ordeal, but did i hear the CEO say he was Jesus? That is so cool. Um, but very blasphemous... I wonder if my pastor is going to make me quit this job? My coworkers were not phased, actually they are kind of disappointing as a group. They all just sat there looking forward with blank stares and mouths agape. Like they were drugged or something. No matter, i am going to introduce myself to the CEO after the closing cocktail party.

This is difficult to write, just an hour ago exuberance was spilling over and now disbelief with sadness. The CEO fired me after saying hello. Something about how weak my handshake was and my hairstyle was inappropriate. The CEO said my body image was not part of the successful equation. Well he can just go jump in a lake. Thanks for taking a walk.
