Ashan - Sacred Spring

Fallen leaves moving together on the water surface, a quiet river ushering them from the place they basked in the sun. A single image of nature moving in complete silence represents a conglomeration of infinite facets. Ashan holds these values and delivers tranquil details for the mind to casually absorb. Sounds held like flora reaching for radiant energy, individual pieces with simple purpose, the complexity increasing as things come together. Sacred Spring exist in a serene natural state, sonic beauty extending from evolution to a point held in delicate splendor.

This is the third body of work in the "Drifter Series" for Sean Conrad's project Ashan. Like the natural state we experience when outside, comparisons to how things once were erodes the current moment. The two compositions before, Transfigurations and Far Drift Afield, hold places in time relative to growth or decomposition. As the title suggest, Sacred Spring is a subsequent season. Sonic threads from before have grown and strengthened as well as crumbled and broke. Now we experience a lengthy composition of eight selections. Gentle passages holding rhythms like lucid dreams. All beginning with the first morning ray of sunlight finding passage through the canopies above. Sacred Spring warms and cools throughout the composition. Sonic spaces flooded with a radiant basking of ambient particles then covered by cumulus clouds to produce shade and sometimes even the rhythm of rain. The aural landscapes Sean Conrad channels rests within the serene meditative depths we can hopefully aspire to. Looking forward to more in The "Drifter Series", finding paths to our consciousnesses in the future, but for now Sacred Spring is pristine and pertinent.

Released on Inner Islands in an edition of one hundred. This week the pre-orders switch over and Sacred Spring will begin shipping. Both previous Ashan releases are sold out both on Inner Islands, and the two most recent editions (Path of the Sun - s/t and Channelers - Isles Beyond) from the label are sold out as well. Sacred Spring will most definitely follow this path so the opportunity for physical copies is current but brief.
