Günter Schlienz - Weltraumfahrt Heute
Where did you go Mr. Schlienz? The outside shell of the new composition titled Weltraumfahrt Heute is burnished and glowing with radiation scars. A long journey through through time, the loneliness of cold empty space or an astral projection into the conscious cosmos? These melodies and sounds, delightful peculiarities and alarming voices are so majestically foreign. They are warm though, filled with an essence of genuine thoughtfulness. Like dragonflies manipulating the laws of flight, landing on the back of the hand for a close inspection of their gossamer wings. A gentleness seems to preside, as if you offered a warm beverage to someone sitting in a comfortable chair, opening the window to say listen. Hear this world, listen to it's intricacies and absorb the serenity.
The longest track on Weltraumfahrt Heute titled Harmonias Halsband is pretty epic. A complete peregrination in musical composition on it's own. The spoken word is perfectly balanced with the oscillating rhythms. Whats even more sapient is how the voice slowly slows down and deepens in pitch, like life is ending. Then the aural chorography brightens and adjusts with ethereal tones. The new vocal characters filled with proper politeness. All the way to the last words "do you have any"? In the states we had an old tv commerical where the question was asked "Pardon me, do you have any Grey Poupon"? Not sure this is the reference but the proper manners are similar. Oh... starting to ramble a little or a lot :)
Let us get to the most important part for those who like both excellent sounds and their limited physical embodiment. Weltraumfahrt Heute is the newest release on Fluere Tapes. Cassettes are all one of a kind with handmade art on translucent paper sleeves. Fluere Tapes had twenty copies, now down to four and Günter Schlienz will have twenty. Not sure how Günter's copies will be distributed. A beautiful composition that explores different sonic pathways. Thank you both Fluere Tapes and Günter Schlienz for making this so beautiful.
