Adam Void & C. Fischer - Force Majeure / Forced Manure
Adam Void and Christopher Fischer have created sounds together. Meeting at the Unread Records headquarters in Lancaster, these two dynamic artists crafted twenty of the most telling selections. With most tracks in the half minute to two minute range, their odyssey is both poignant and diverse. There are some songs with traditional guitar and vocals, but there are also recorded phone conversations, stories of life, broken electronic beats, jawharp, banjo, accordion, talk of the creative process, and even a cover. Many of the track themes revolve around factors of getting by, "Just Cause I'm Drinkin'", "Blues Plate Special", "Chemtrail" and "Stuck / Buried" are some. If you have listened to Adam Void or C. Fischer, you will know what to expect when beginning this listening session. I would say there is a slower almost melancholy feel to many of these selections. "We are alive, but doing it at the nice pace". Question such as "Why Do The Amish Have Smartphones?" of course can only be answered with a punk laden response. If you are not acquainted with the impromptu home recording style, please take the time and give Force Majeure / Forced Manure a full listen. There is great diversity within this album from two artists who have excelled in creating beauty from the simplest means. But if you do not like what you hear, you need to read the title again.
This is cool.... Force Majeure / Forced Manure is on green vinyl! Only one hundred and eleven copies, an "angel number". The are also one hundred cassette editions, a regular amount. Take a listen and see what a twenty four hour recording session has in store. Link to Cut In The Fence for tapes and records.
