Gabriele Ghezzi - Monomonomono
Monza, Italy's Sud Afternoon Tapes label with a new release from Gabriele Ghezzi. Electrifying live recordings of guitar and beats. Five lengthy selections with a diverse construct. With a tilt up in volume, these tracks bulldoze the conscious. The second selection "Insostenibile Leggerezza", a full out barrage of clamoring rhythms and crafty strings. And then a flip in timbre and tone, "Sai Le Cose Cambiano" arrives with deep grooves and monstrous guitar picking. A future tribal dance for creatures of pure energy and dangerous discharge. The longest piece "Meditazione" shape shifts again, Gabriele Ghezzi building what seems like layers of droning guitar. The overlay filled with melodic riffs for giant stone statues of the gods. The finale twist sonic bones while the solemn fire burns deep in the woods. A lone blues man lost in the outer stretches of time plays the delta wail. Infused with electricity and distortion, ancient and decaying guitar notes providing the nutrients for new growth.
As noted, cassettes are part of the Sud Afternoon Tapes catalog, their newest release. Monomonomono is very limited to only twenty. Tapes are currently available at the time of these words.
