Jay Howard - We Have Evidence to Believe
A radio dial turning with no end. Infinite frequencies, reoccurring patterns, there is a peacefulness to the process, a life long pacification. We Have Evidence to Believe fluctuates from spacious ambient emptiness to harsh static sweeps of saturated white noise. The aural intricacy between these extremes is the sonic mystery and wonder. With two side long tracks, each a half hour, Jay Howard is consistently relentless with a steady pace of planetary radio tuning. Conversations seem to continue in the background while electronic mayhem dances with timeless connections to decaying waves and chain rattling spirits. With many hours of fingers slowly rotating the knob of a shortwave radio set, We Have Evidence to Believe resonates particularly well. Radio fade and unexplained sequences, i do believe the evidence.
Released on Already Dead Tapes and Records in a cassette edition of fifty. Physical copies have sold out from the label. I think Already Dead has reduced many of the cassette runs. Probably finding the magic number of selling all of them.
