Minot - Walls//People Pleaser
The new 45 rpm lathe cut from Montana's Minot band. Two selections balancing introspective melodies of the struggles in life with the pulsating heart beat of a bi-polar call for attention. A perfect sonic platter connecting listeners with the heart of the classic three piece sound; Flora playing guitar and vox, Noah on the drums and Alex with both bass and guitar as written.
People Pleaser is the story of a young woman who tried to fit in with a less than compassionate friend group. Kinda feel like there is some "Tom Petty" underlying vibe to this one. Not the same any way, just the sound makes thoughts drift there. Walls begins with a Bauhaus type rhythm dropping into a urgent cry for the need to find a happier place. A perfect written and played song emphasizing the sonic raw power of this three piece band and their deeper message.
Released on a lathe cut seven inch 45 rpm in an edition of sixty five. Copies are currently available from Minot's bandcamp page.
