Glasspack - Double for Horse Dancer
The turn reveals a long dirt road, a contrast sifts through memories as this inviting shaded path extends through parched and radiated lands. Tunnel or portal to a place of ancient beauty. Thoughts speculate with how many have passed forward to desired extents. A step or touch on play, the journey begins through physical inducement opening to conscious recesses. Double for Horse Dancer has this sublime spark. Sonic explosions so small and infinite, a drone of epic wonder melting as we tranquilly listen. We begin with metamorphosed bagpipes and end in a deep susurration the consciousness. A beautiful journey and more significantly a meditative embodiment.
Ian McColm and Henry Birdsey are the two artists who are Glasspack. In this composition, they have used source material created at Craig Bowen's Tempo House recording studio. Between Ian and Henry, their source material could be anything, but bagpipes are one medium for certain. The title track "Double for Horse Dancer" is the fulcrum of the composition being expertly balanced from the permeating sound from bagpipe and infinite chasms of drone. Sonic pathways on the four other selections blur with floating weightlessness and gravitating rhythm. The second track "Memory Shop, Carolina" is the best reset exposure. Droning scintillation of humming bird bagpipe wings floating immaculately over deep churning currents of sedative ambience. Very beautiful.
