Holofoil - s/t

The sounds we love from Already Dead Tapes and Records have pooled in fond memories and spilled over to create Holofoil. A trio of artists, Curtis Tinsley, Mabel Suen and Joseph Hess, working in and around many projects released by Already Dead. So, if you have been following the label over time, this seven track burner will feel very nostalgic. The formula is classic, bass, guitar, drums and vocals. The sounds are fresh, delivering faced paced rhythms with catchy melodies and perfectly conterminous vocals. A glowing facet of Holofoil is how perfectly under cooked these sounds are. From well written beginnings, the composition is far from over produced. These undressed selections have room to develop tastiness within all who listen. After many repeats, Holofoil steadily grows with how simply striking and imperceptibly deep this group is. 

Released on cassette in an edition of one hundred by Already Dead. Physical copies are currently available from the label alreadydeadtapes.com. Artwork is by Carlos González Boy. Recorded and mixed by Matt Stuttler at the The Sinkhole in  St. Louis, Missouri. Mastered by Mario Viele.

 

This debut gets better with every listen. Sonic angles nestling to perfection with music heard before and awaiting in the distance.
