Faint sounds, yet so detailed and prevalent. J. P. A. Falzone plays the celeste and two quarter tuned apart pianos with perfect synchronicity of small curtains opening in the conscious. Each note like a step and turn down another gas lit alley, the hairs on your arms rising with the friction of the bow. For all the intensity, this tremulous composition maintains a sublime reserve. Both Morgan Evans-Weiler & J. P. A. Falzone stay within the margins of Morgan Evans-Weiler’s open-score work. This is an important feature, allowing listeners to connect at deeper levels of thought and mediation. We are never rattled off the seat, even with low levels of alarms sounding with each new selection.
Released on the Kuyin label based in Sweden. Beautifully presented compact discs on fold out triple panel jackets. The lengthy liner notes were penned by Luke Martin. Mastering was Luke Damrosch.
