Public Speaking - It's Okay to Have Fun

A confluence of melodies and creative polysonics. The reach from Public Speaking gently pulls genres and styles together. These sounds are currently met with the highest gratitude by everyone appreciating a subtle forward push. Probably still fringe music for the majority, perceived deviations from standard harmonic formats causing listening distress. It's Okay to Have Fun is such an appropriate album title and should be words of wisdom if receiving this composition from peripheral appreciative grounds. Jason Anthony Harris composes for us what fun is. These selections are incredibly poetic, filled with cascading rhythms built around the heyday of generation X's responsiveness. There are moments of 80's nostalgia and these memories are quickly carted around by pixelated characters with square wheeled vehicles. Listening space is pushed to the cliffs edge, falling off and amazingly floating across Public Speaking's richly detailed aural landscape.

This is the fourth release for Public Speaking on Already Dead Tapes and Records in over twelve years. Lost in a Sea of Sound had the pleasure to listen and pen words to the last release Grace Upon Grace. Amazingly this was over eight years ago. In between this time there was a release titled An Apple Lodged in My Back on the label Whited Sepulchre that needs to be pulled up and listened to.

It's Okay to Have Fun is currently available on cassette from Already Dead Tapes and Records. Nine selections spanning over 45 minutes. The long span of time for Jason Anthony Harris' newest confirms excellence in every facet.
