Organic Produce - Vegetal

Pristine blue atmosphere is disturbed by conscious exploration. We listen in the lowest altitudes of this moderately pressurized world of Organic Produce. While fully enveloped in the swaddle of lightly applied ambience, strange creatures signal their presence with bellowing fanfare and playful signals. Mysterious melodies laid out like cairns across empty space. We drift in tangent to static energy overly tingling absorbing perception. "Journey into the Wind" is the first selection on this new composition titled Vegetal. A twenty minute meditation with gorgeous roots in Native American tradition (the flute portion), as clarinet and electronics become the Mescalito of the learning spirit. 

 

There are four more selections on Vegetal, not as long as the first track and all taking new sonic paths. "Box Twigs" is the shortest and most ruminative, heavy drone with flute and electronics. "Wood Shards" is a beautiful clarinet piece taking listeners on a nine minute journey through new dimensions. The last selection titled "Devotion & Refuse" uses what is referenced as the reed organ, sounding a little bit like a harmonium.  This track is a full sensory overload, like a sonic conscious cleanse to part paths on. 

 

Released by Variable Recordings out of Los Angeles, California on cassette. Not sure how many are in this edition. Organic Produce is the project of Portland, Oregon's Emmet Martin. An artist and music cog in the most gorgeous and creative sense. Emmet is part of the project Water Shrews and runs Bud Tapes. Vegetal is excellent from start to finish and reminds me a little bit of sounds from Bryan Day's label's Public Eyesore and eh?
