Ross Hammond - A Bright Light

Drifting in and out, the vast surrounding beauty is recognized in random moments. What combination unlocks to pull us from daily responsibilities? Sights, sounds, words, meditation, a mix of any or all, reaching within to stop the rolling state of being. Then, in an all to brief instance, realization of a myriad of details culminating in the presence of senses connecting to form a deep emotion of how majestic life really is. Fortunately when listing to music, the ability to enter a prolonged blissful state is shared with us by gifted artists. With this introduction, please take time to give Ross Hammond's "A Bright Light" composition a complete listen.

Two side long tracks of National acoustic lap steel guitar mind soothers. The tones and style reaching through time to the pinnacle of delta blues, but this is just the advent of Ross Hammond's playing. Way points of late sixties American primitive guitar, Gnawa styled rhythms, the melodically soothing meditative oud of Munir Bashir, and the amazing playing of Sundaram Balachander of the Veena. How can a "A Bright Light" have so many compatibilities? A culmination of details, so many threads, maybe some Ross Hammond is familiar with and possibly some the future will connect. As we know from the love of music and listening, there are many incredible compositions resonating for a lifetime of listening. "A Bright Light" holds this special place. Sounds to reconnect with the fine points of beauty surrounding us.

This composition will be released on Full Spectrum Records on November 4th in cassette format. A Digital download will be available as well. Full Spectrum Records operates out of Littlefield, Texas.
