Ryan Richard - Grief Presentation

A monotonous influx of feelings of loss. Emotions reining over each moment, the days blurring into hazed period of melancholy and despair. There are instances though of the weight being briefly dispersed; looking at a photograph and seeing a joyful moment, hearing a song resonating with a memory, a gust of wind across still water, sunshine illuminating a special place, finding an object of connecting interest. Ryan Beitler found a tape of his passed grandmother giving a presentation in understanding grief. He used his grandmother's presentation to build an emotional composition titled Grief Presentation.

Ryan Richard is the project name of Ryan Beitler. This newest composition released on Ephem-Aural is a five selection plunge into an aural world of drone, spoken word, samples and some amazingly heart felt sonic trippiness. These sounds are more crepuscular, not doomed filled and dark that grief may be associated with. An intoxicating feeling presides throughout, with the foundation being a recording of someone loved, this energy swirls within the selections. The last track and the longest, "Distress & Disruptive Functioning", is the most removed from warmth. The technique of reverb used over the B-side of the presentation tape creates an far out aural landscape. A place where distances span across spiritual plains touching on places we would and would not want to experience.

Released on Ephem-Aural on cassette and currently available. Everything was composed by Ryan Beitler and mastered by southern California's Erol Ulug
