Derek Monypeny - Born (Free)

Have to go back a little bit for a Personal Archive release that is more at ease than Born (Free). Absolute woven sonic beauty from the opening and longest track "Blit", through a stellar assortment music and sound, all finishing with an appropriately named selection "Fin". With electric guitar and electric oud, the diversity and range of feelings is a great pleasure to hear. At times the music resonates with a worldly introspection of a long caravan making progress over land centuries ago. Other selections plunge into aural gooiness faintly glowing from momentary dimensional doorways to somewhere else. Derek Monypeny shares warmth from a passionate heart and creative conscious filled from exploration. A gorgeous listen with well balanced distinctness.

As mentioned, this is a Personal Archive release in an edition of one hundred and fifty.  Eight tracks close to forty minutes in length. Derek Monypeny has a lengthy discography with both vinyl and cassette releases. Born (Free) is an excellent start, but there is lots to explore with this artist. Take a look and listen on his bandcamp page.
