P’derrigerreo – “Live in (a) Basement”

Sound and rhythm rolling in as ocean waves, crashing on shore in a turbulent moment, then receding with smooth fluidity. Somewhere in this cycle, music from “Live in (a) Basement” rests. Electronic fiery static, a radio dial turning to find late night programs while fighting off infiltrating words from imposing ethereal airwaves. Guitars play with a saturated din of feedback and restrained radiation, while voices sing from deep within a mole adorned sepulcher. A twist of strings and song infused with the most far out organ player grinning from the front perch of a shop within a mall from the early eighties. There is mime outside moving rhythmically in trance like convulsions as the organ player's head rotates a hundred and eighty degrees a winks directly at you. A repose, thoughtful horn gently echoes in the empty space within your head as the finally approaches. The longest track begins with a deep droning rumble of what we are conditioned to think giant star ships sound like. The peacefulness begins to ever so slightly fracture as lost voices weave through the groan of tranquility. This augments as a new pitch of static silence ushers sinuous lamentations from tortured spirits within the dimensional cacophony. Sinking back to a new enlightened ambience we all graciously appreciate from deeper listening.
