Echos of sonic projections deviating from origins. The scholarly Scott Scholz detouring guitar playing traditions with Oscar Reutersvärd aural landscapes. A figure on the pinnacle of sonic polymorphism, from the sounds individually created to the curated euphony and cacophony of those around him. Scott Scholz taking form from the grinning stoicism found in old photographs, using a proprietary colorization process to create a newly heard vibrancy. This is a special composition, eliciting a wide range of feelings from listeners. There are moments of tranquility, moments when this composition seems to slide into moody sky watching electric guitar rhythm fueled daydreams. There are also times when the serenity phases out of sync, the musing of internal thoughts dragged to the surface and splashed with water. The new reality becoming the needed turn in bed, relieving stressed pressure points. Back to pondering, back to contemplation, until a far away alarm sounds. Piercing tones arriving through some late night seventies science fiction movie. Captivating and disorienting simultaneously. The creative material filling this lengthy composition titled Figure and Ground is immense. Sailing an aural world filled with fascination and sonic wonder, sometimes the moving water below transfixes thought and then causes light nausea from sea sickness.

As mentioned, Figure and Ground is a very unique album. These selections relay the inner feelings of an artist with vivid intensity. Released on cassette in an edition of one hundred.
