Huw Morgan - Melos

Huw Morgan treats listeners with a special augmentation of the physical capabilities of the organ. Recorded in multiple location in England and Scotland...
  • Track I - Saint Stephen’s Church, Bristol
  • Track II & III - All Saints Church, Clifton, Bristol
  • Track IV - Dundee University Chaplaincy
  • Track V - St Laurence Church, Catford, London
Sounds from these organs are sustained through the use of electronics. Difficult to tell where physical recordings end and the sampled portions begin. This allows Huw Morgan to subtly shift the measures, taking the analog origination and swallowing the ends with appreciative accord. On these five pieces, the underlying connectivity is a droning organ. As we listen within this space, textures undulate with conscious drift. Singular moments are lost in infinite density of sounds from Melos. Deep thoughts and meditative emptiness, these are the companions for this composition. Nostalgic notes becoming more than ever thought possible.
