帯化 - 御池塘自治/On Chitou Jichi (3rd album)
With a whirl and drum roll 帯化 Taika's third album or collection of recordings materializes from all time and locations around our world. There are so many connections to sounds and styles, a world, rock, folk, punk and experimental cross cut exposing the beauty of melody driven music. On Chitou Jichi treads a razor edge rock ridge, to one side the pounding rhythmic sounds from civilization and industry, the other a serenity founded in dance a lure of fireside ubiquity. This is the beauty of On Chitou Jichi, roots through civilizations, sounds capturing the light footsteps of a horse drawn cart to the trudge of a cargo ship moving in open ocean. Many times this quality exist simultaneously, like in the gorgeous track 金魚鉢/Kingyobachi. Electric and acoustic guitars sharing a melody filled with both a nostalgic warmth and melancholy delivery. Showcasing the diversity is the track directly following titled 御陵/Misasagi. Tempo increased, gone are the ethereal folk roots, replaced by an brief rocking anthem, dropping listeners off at the longest track 降霊/Kourei. Begins with a complex kinda 70's rock burner then travels and gets lost through many dimensional sonic doors, ending with a listen to steady rain.
Released on the label Zouenkeikaku out of Tokyo. Currently available on vinyl, compact disc or cassette.
