Felicity Mangan - String Figures
From the opening selection "Watering Devices", Felicity Mangan reveals the undercurrents of this new composition titled String Figures. In fine aural depiction, a dreamlike picnic of children at play with sprinklers providing excitement. The deep reverberating undertone connecting timeless scenes in the multiplicity of modern life. The second selection "Cello Figures" is almost an orchestral warm up for the intricate sonic bliss Felicity Mangan submerges into. Natural and undisturbed, strings reverberate with the qualities of removed wilderness. "Magnetic Moss" catapults listeners away from Terra firma towards the gamma ray currents of the cosmos. Electronic rhythms sending foreign messages through the conscious, a pleasurable reprogramming of inner space. The next selection "Invisible Strings" turns back towards low frequency introspective ambience. Beautiful sinking heavy currents taking listeners to the absolutely gorgeous track titled "String Thing". This piece hearkens back towards the pioneering times of electronic ambience. Where frequencies were uplifting and filled with warmth and spark for the spirit to find energy. From beginning to end, String Figures floats with currents of spectacular changing venues. The journey is fluid and rest easily within the listening heart.
