JPA Falzone and Morgan Evans-Weiler – Ascending Music

Ascending Music is a special sonic composition. Music for reed organ and violin by J.P.A. Falzone and Evans-Weiler respectively. The title track Ascending Music is divided into two parts, the first selection of twenty minutes in length and the last track of approximately ten minutes. These two selections were composed by both J.P.A. Falzone and Morgan Evans-Weiler. These creative sounds are also the fruit on the vine for the album. Two instruments slow circling in a ritualistic primordial dance. Their sonic embodiment mirroring each other, like a staring contest with only minute details of breath being different. The parallel play tapers to a small degree allowing sine waves to break on thick singular line. This is especially significant in the three middle selections composed by only J.P.A. Falzone. The entire composition is meditative but also holds slightly to the melancholy. Possibly a result of sounds constantly crossing through natural notes and finding many moments in sharps and flats. Beautiful composition highlighting creativeness, expertise and an instrument resting in the wake of time.
