Unborn Ghost - Airs of Contempt and Derision
The air quivers after the sonic artillery round of Unborn Ghost. Something in the distance just got fucked up. From the percussion dense opening to "Acute Adverse Psychological Reaction to Lysergic Acid Diethylamide" and the maniacal trippy circus music held within, this composition is turning heavy equipment gears. Trudging through an apocalyptic sonic wasteland, this recording titled Airs of Contempt and Derision takes melodies on a high speed ride with these quoted words vocalized in the background "I am the Nightrider. I'm a fuel injected suicide machine. I am a rocker, I am a roller, I am a out-of-controller! I'm the Nightrider, baby!" With thirteen tracks, Unborn Ghosts has a world of time to explore many facets of the aural darkness. There are a few tracks flipping the tables, like "Richard Cory" a raw punkabilly ballad and the second to last track "Sketch Four" with a tilted ambience. Airs of Contempt and Derision is a composition that takes deeper hold with each listen. Slowly the understanding of what Unborn Ghost is all about settles in.
