Subtle Body - s/t
The sounds of creative energy spills from this powerful debut by Subtle Body. Eight selection in an all to brief eighteen minute rip. Together, Mike, Rachel, Dave, Chips and Bo find and extract the ethos of swirling genre potency. Definitely the strongest ingredient is simple raw organic goodness. Nothing polished and with this aspect, providing the warmth of something genuine. Almost want to say Pylon comes to mind, but time and seasoning have made Subtle Body much more digestible. They are the sum of music love and much time playing in countless bands. The aggregate is top shelf and provides the perfect desirability for many repeated listens. Maybe the most important aspect of music, do you press play again? Subtle Body... for sure.
Released on cassette format by the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania label Strange Mono. Looks like physical copies are sold out on their bandcamp page but they are possible available on the label's big cartel page. Cool fact, all profits from Strange Mono's distribution are donated to mutual aid organizations every month. The organization on the Subtle Body page is Vamos Juntos. A community-led, Latine immigrant organization in South Philadelphia fighting for our human rights as workers, parents, youth, and immigrants.
