João Orecchia & Sicker Man - Pluton/Neptune
On sounds we thrive. Consciousnesses absorbing the indescribable. A rhythm sliced by a spark, minds becoming a circuit board fro transmitting sonic energy. A noise or notes from an orchestra, both real and both viable to the context they rest within. Pluton/Neptune exist in this phase, a resonating depth of aural wonder. Rhythm and beats like a heartily woven net capturing dislodged fragments of sound shreds. Vibrating and shrieking, vessels of sonic energy squirming through for listeners eventually to catch. A composition of beauty allowing chaos to unfurl the ambient serenity.
João Orecchia & Sicker Man have created music in the distant reaches of where sounds may go. Their shared ability works together in tranquility and disorder simultaneously. Both tracks, Pluton and Neptune depict stable dense masses of symphonic bass, a cadence of instruments carrying the moment. Like a heart beat heard when things are ultimately quiet, this is the life force both João Orecchia & Sicker Man connect with. Moving outward from deep within, the aural world seemingly ruptures in slow motion. João Orecchia and Tobias Vethake (Sicker Man) have been friends for a long time. The harmony they have built together through time crescendos, mutates and disintegrates over the course of these two pieces. Like life, these sounds have infinite depth and detail. A few listens is necessary to begin to hear this richness.
Released on Other Electricities out of Miami, Florida. This is the first time Lost in a Sea of Sound has had the pleasure to describe a release from Other Electricities. Greatly appreciate the opportunity to support Florida labels and beautiful sounds drifting in future directions. Copies are available from Other Electricities bandcamp page. Both João Orecchia & Sicker Man have individual releases on Other Electricities worth exploring as well.
