Patrick McMinn - Have Done

Vision defines so much for most people living in this world. Human sight can detect wavelengths from 380 to 700 nano meters, but beyond this extends a spectrum of spectacular energy. Within this field, sounds traverse in the most beautiful patterns and unfathomable chaos. This release titled Have Done holds focus on a world we can not see or hear. Steady droning vibrations sparked with molecular melodies, deep undercurrents of shuddering bass stained with crazing fissures of sonic radiation. Have Done highlights energetic particles bombarding Earth and follows their coarse through the crust to rest in tranquil stillness for millennia.

Patrick McMinn is the composer for Have Done. His album contains two forty five minute pieces, one on each side of the cassette. The first titled Habit Fills Up what Remains is composed for live performance. Driven by the chaotic environment of a SuperCollider, modular synthesizer and trumpet create a serene canvas. A place where sonic familiarity is only a thin reflective blanket protecting listeners from the bombardment of aural particles. Lose and Have Done with Losing is the full side piece for the flip. This composition was written as a prelude to a theatrical run of Samuel Beckett's Endgame. Patrick McMinn creates a sonic landscape similar to the vast array of features we know on this planet. Beautiful fields of grass, wooded valleys, rocky snow covered peaks and vast stretches of ocean with the magnificence of cooling a lava flow. Tranquility from start to finish with moments of fantastic grandeur filling thoughts for creative inspiration.

Have Done is released on cassette by Hidden Arrow Records. The art for the release is by Jessica Keyes. The cover features a photograph of replEmbrac by Jeffrey Gangswich.
