nyxy nyx / Sun Organ / Sandcastle - Made For This Life

A triple split....

Nyxy Nyx, Sun Organ and Sandcastle, each with their own style and sound, but somehow this composition does not sound split at all. Is it the perfect mix tape of old? One hundred percent yeah. Blight Records has a very tight community of artists that contribute on more than single projects. Made For This Life transverses folk, skewed pop and creative majesty.  With most tracks checking in between two and three minutes, the entire listening experience blows through way to quickly for how good this is.

Each project throws shards of sonic diversity. I would say Sun Organ is the most folk with banjo on one selection, but their last track "Over n' Over Again" blows that thought away. Nyxy Nyx starts off with with "No Worries", classic on the edge pop, but the two subsequent selections trend more to the the almost slow core side of things. Sandcastle remains the most consistent, a balance of beautiful music with widespread roots across many genres.

An interesting feature of Made For Life is the last track. This is the complete album in reverse. Starting with "Over n' Over Again" and going back to Sun Organ's "Darkness of Love" Amazingly this sounds beautifully congruent to the nine tracks leading up to it. To the point your just lost in the entire album.

Made Fore This Life is a cassette release on Richmond's BLIGHT Records. An edition of one hundred and currently available. Excellent and holds in the tape deck with ease and grace.
