Rob Collier - Driftwood and Other Found Objects

This is the second time Rob Collier's sounds have been deeply listened to. The first was a handful of months back, an album titled Moving Backwards, released by Geology Records. An edition of fifty cassettes, all have sold out from the label. Fortunately, Noumenal Loom has continued with the beautiful sounds from Rob Collier. The difference, meditative piano has been replaced by cascading tranquility of a Casio CZ-1 Phase Distortion Synthesizer. The conciliate aural arrangements have been slightly adjusted, filling conscious with the first morning rays of delightful radiance.

Driftwood and Other Found Objects has a very unique tone with the Casio CZ-1. The electronics bleed raw uncured energy. A sense of compositional creations from the past wells up. Timeless spiritual cassettes from the seventies, crystals and their healing power. The difference is Rob Collier is not trying to produce music to be played throughout the ashram with tapes on the counter to purchase on the way out. That is a little unfair to say because there were many artists from the past that were about channeling their creativity for the sheer sense of sharing something beautiful. This is the connection Rob Collier has with a half century ago. Driftwood and Other Found Objects has this essence of the past in vintage tones, and forges into the future with pleasant delight and patient vibrancy.

Released on Noumenal Loom in a cassette edition of seventy five. Copies are currently available from the label's bandcamp page. Do not miss out on this one, heart filled Promethean Casio vibrations....
