Sansyou - True North Coast

Finding new sonic space from nostalgic energy. The melodies within True North Coast drip in stalactite formations. Building on time worn foundations to create a beautifully new pageantry of sublime grooves. Sounds from the eighties flickering in thoughts, pushed through the decades, worn and gentle like rare pieces of sea glass. Melodies are juxtaposed within True North Coast, ears hear the past and future in stereophonic splendor.

David Nicholas (Sansyou) connected with John Mark King for the the last Sansyou release titled Eyes Front. A 2021 composition building the bones for True North Coast. These two releases have lovely connections, Eyes Front being the sturdy and stoic tree within True North Coast's sparkling dance of leaves in the sunlight. The biggest difference is the addition of Michael Blank, Scott Gould, and Kelli Scott to the existing duo from the previous album of David and John Mark. Sansyou takes me back to when i listened to my first compact disc, the clarity and ease of guitar playing mixed with the rich heart felt energy made thoughts return to this. The music is not comparable in the sense one sounds like the other, just the carefree beauty of it. This is not the cd i first heard, just comes from it and well worth checking. True North Coast is a very special uplifting set of tracks that unfortunately play way to quickly. Fortunately listening again is easy and desired.
