Rambutan & Bill Shute - Bridge On The Bayou
Heavy humidity on a new release from Bill Shute and Eric Hardiman. After recently attending the Florida Folk Festival and listening to Florida story tellers, descriptive poetry from the south is familiar and appreciated. Bridge On The Bayou contains five selections from the steadfast old bridge, hurricane squalls, farm work, business makings and scrapple, a blurred reality of the way it has been and man's vision of how it should be. Bill Shute delivers dripping descriptions of heat basked landscapes filled with hard work and opportunity. Well told experiences from connected conscious. Different and much enjoyed is the music created by Rambutan. If only all story tellers had the depth these two artists have created. Not sure if this could work, but seeing this performed live would be really special. The guitar and effects from Eric Hardiman create a clear and dark beautiful depth to what falls into the bayou and is absorbed in our thoughts.
Released on compact disc in a limited edition on Tape Drift. These are stories by Bill Shute from Bayou Teche in Arnaudville, Louisiana. I am a Louisiana native and still live in the south, so this was a special experience to listen and share. Both artists, Bill Shute and Eric Hardiman are perfect together, their combined experience and work with others is at the highest level. Please listen and order a copy.
