modern folk duo band - The Modern Folk Duo Band
The Modern Folk has many different renditions. From Modern Folk to MF Duo, MF Trio and MF Homeland band. Internet diving and extracting out a little information, the release described here, could be the first release of the version "Modern Folk Duo Band". The line up of two includes Josh Mosh and Austin Richards. Also helping on a few tracks are Trevor Schorey on drums
and Toki with barks. Driven by guitar, harmonica and shruti box, the listening tone is for shade filled spaces, trees allowing an accord of sparkling light to dance with the music on the earth below. The shruti box and harmonica anchoring sounds to a world of influences, India, America, Ireland and beyond. Guitar work by Josh and Austin holds values to a plethora of beautiful melodies played in preceding decades. Enough to be lost on the exact time this composition was created. Could easily have been fifty years ago, not out of place in any sense. With that being described, there always is the penchant for a little more experimentation behind every selection from The Modern Folk Duo Band. The tracks on this composition have energy and tilt more towards the realm of uplifted spirits from the serenity they hopefully reside. Modern Folk Duo band sometimes gets a little bluesy like on "Hard Fried Over Easy" but stays rooted in the heart of American sounds from the sixties until now.
Released on Monadnock Sound & Vision in cassette edition. Not sure what the run is but copies are currently available from the label.
