Alan Graves - A Possible Wind
Fueled by a collection of wind driven field recordings, Alan Graves has composed a gorgeous album of thought pacifying aural eolian erosion. With ten selections in the construct, A Possible Wind moves in subtle variations. There is an ambient energy throughout, a sublime connection making the entire composition cohesively pleasing. Maybe this thought is just from personal experience, but A Possible Wind has a 70's healing vibe saturating the cassette shell. These sounds beautifully transcend decades and connect with a genre before many listeners were born. There are a couple of selections like the fifth track titled Passage Murmur where Alan Graves slows to the most tranquil tempo. This track also includes clarinet by guest James Phillips (also on tracks two and ten). A Possible Wind is a purely exquisite composition, written and performed with unclouded august charm.
Alan Graves is the project alias of the multi faceted Justin Longerbeam. A musician, audio engineer, sound designer, Justin is also a co-founder of the label Bathysphere Records. A Possible Wind is the fifteenth release on the label in just over two years. The label catalog is filled with beautiful recordings all tilted towards finding the deeper pathways into the spirit. Cassettes like this one, A Possible Wind, are all in very limited editions of twenty four.
