Mazut - Dirt Collector

Mazut and the label Rope Worm have taken this newest release tilted Dirt Collector to the highest levels. Currently available are compact discs with and assortment of stickers. Shirts are also available in both black and orange. If inclined, there are a couple of seven inch lathe cuts still for sale, recorded and cut with two tracks from the album. Why so much effort into this new Rope Worm release? This is Mazut's first release in four years, and could also be considered as their tenth year anniversary of the long running project by Paweł Starzec and Michał Turowski. Going back in the Lost in a Sea of Sound past efforts is the album Atlas from 2018. Nice to have a proper return to LIASOS after a long time.

The sounds from Dirt Collector are filled with energetic beats and rhythms but also include a dive into a darker brine. Mazut has crafted a beautiful flow on this composition. Sounds submerged and intensely vibrating in a thick medium, surfacing to ring with clarity and style. From the bomb shelter and it's inhabitants turning the dial on the short wave radio, Dirt Collector emerges with refreshing energy. The diversity is the most gorgeous factor in making such an outstanding recording. Easily depicted by comparing two selections, "You Try to Make People Upset, But Nobody Gives a Fuck" and "Slow Cancelation of The Future". The first filled with beats and musters to move the body while the later slowing the beats per minute in the  thick haze of sublime chill. But these are just two examples of a long composition containing thirteen tracks. There is so much within, hopefully listeners will get lost and enjoy!

As mentioned, released by the Warsaw, Poland label Rope Worm. Full love for the physical production and equally for the sounds within. I read this is an edition of three hundred and thirty three.
